Chiropody in BristolQualified Chiropodist in the Bristol Area. The humble feet are the foundation of our posture & the ability to remain upright. Considered unattractive by many 'owners' & encased in footwear much of the time, feet are often neglected until they become painful. When discomfort or pain arises in any area of the foot, movement eg. walking, running etc. is adapted to minimise the pain. This often creates a compensatory imbalance, which can affect the ankles, knees, hips & lower back. The average foot can, at any time, develop corns, callous, hard skin, blisters, Athletes foot, fungal nail conditions, heel fissure (cracks to you & me) smelly feet (Bromhidrosis), dry skin & other problematic foot & nail conditions. The feet are complex 'feats' of engineering, each foot contains 26 bones, 19 muscles, 107 ligaments & over 7200 nerve endings. With all those nerve endings there is little wonder at the pain experienced when things go awry. I deal with many conditions of the feet as sensitively and painlessly as possible &, having seen many foot shapes & sizes, am unlikely to be 'fazed' by anyone who is sensitive about the state of their feet. Part of your treatment involves advice on maintaining optimum comfort & health for many foot and nail conditions; together with footwear & foot care suggestions if appropriate. Chiropody what to expect at your first treatment You will be asked to remove your footwear & will then either sit in a comfortable chair or recline on a treatment couch. Your chiropodist (Alison) will inspect & treat your feet & will discuss any appropriate home care advice. Cost per home visit appointment from £25.00, subject to distance.
